Bernardo Quintão personal website

Hello stranger,

I’m really glad you are here! I wish this can be a prelude to a proper conversation.

For over a decade I've been living two - assumedly - different worlds: Technology and Spirituality. Sometimes, I feel like having an alter ego, or even multiple personalities.

So this is my first attempt to show myself as one whole human being.

What matters to me now

We’re living exciting times of amazing tech breakthroughs, but I genuinely believe that becoming better humans is far more urgent than creating better apps or gadgets.

We're an abundant global society, and technology has a big part in it, yet a lot of us feel lost, lonely and depressed.

As the singularity approaches, we find ourselves starving not for innovation, but for belonging, meaning, joy, love.

Three bits of my journey

I've been on a conscious journey for more than a decade now, in parallel to my professional career. There were three big shifts that happened to me during this time and I want to share a little bit about them.

The first one was going to Piracanga Ecovillage in 2013, when I was dealing with my father's passage. I've been visiting it every year and since 2012 I call it home. There is a very nurturing sense of belonging and a very healthy lifestyle result of this decision. It was after this experience that I decided to change my career to focus on technology (and therefore, blockchain).

The second was attending Sexsibility Festival at Angsbacka in Sweden. An amazing curated experience idealized by Lorenzo Stiernquist, who's beyond a great teacher is now a dear friend. I felt like discovering ancient wisdom long forgotten and kind of forbidden. During the festival, I had an important inspiration moment, when I realized that I should also dedicate some time and effort to expand this important knowledge in the world.

Lastly, during the covid pandemic, I had an unexpected illness that scared me a lot. During two weeks, I was hospitalized and was very afraid of dying. Facing a possible sudden death has created in me some sense of urgency that has been crucial for taking important decisions since then. Some decisions that I used to postpone to "when I'm more prepared" or "after I have more money" started to be addressed earlier.

If we have the opportunity to meet with enough time and space to connect in a human level, feel free to ask about these important moments in my life.

My work experience

I split my attention between investing, advising and working in tech companies and organizing and facilitating personal development retreats, workshops and festivals.

Experience

Founder and Investor

I've been a founder my whole professional career. I started my first company with university colleagues when I was 20 and have been creating, investing and advising tech companies ever since.

I'm currently a co-founder at Replicats.ai, where we're very excited to be exploring how to deliver more financial safety for people that are very underserved of professional investment services. And of course, we're using AI (GNNs, Keras, etc) for that.

More of my experience can be seen on my LinkedIn profile.

Organizer and Facilitator

A few years ago, I started organizing and facilitating retreats, workshops and festivals around consent, conscious relationships and intimacy. Together with Lorenzo and his team, we landed Sexsibility Festival in Brazil in 2022. Although I'm not directly involved anymore, the Festival is now on the 4th edition, being run by an amazing team of good friends. Me and Alice Lamuse brought to Brazil Somatic Consent and Consent Labs, Matt Schwent's beautiful work. And more recently, I've been co-facilitating with Marcia Peixoto and other guest teachers beautiful retreats and workshops at Ninho de Afeto.

This was a Start Weekend Education that I organized in 2015 with a few friends in Brazil. I'm very proud of having been

Let's connect.

Now that you know a little bit about me, I'd love to get to know you.
